Phong Nha surpasses many Asian destinations such as Pedang, Binh Dong, or Narita to become the most economical place in the region in Spring.
The travel platform Agoda announced the list of the most economical destinations in Asia in April and May on 18 March. Leading the ranking is Phong Nha, Quang Binh, Vietnam with an average room price of only 29.4 USD/night. This makes it ideal for tourists who love nature and exploring.

The survey analyzes the top 20 tourist destinations in each market and evaluates 180 cities. Average rates are taken from room data booked in January or February 2025 with check-in dates from 1 April to 31 May.
In Vietnam, Phong Nha has surpassed other destinations including Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc, Hoi An, Sapa, Ha Long, Da Lat, etc.. In November 2024, Agoda also ranked Da Lat at the top of the list of Asia’s most economical destinations at the end of the year, and the beginning of the new year.
The tourism platform commented that Phong Nha is a paradise for believers to explore nature with magnificent caves and green landscapes. Visitors can admire Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO heritage site, visit the World’s largest cave, relax on a boat along the Son River, or experience rock climbing, cycling, and local culture.
Following Phong Nha is Tirupati, India with a cost of about 33.7 USD/ night. Hat Yai, Thailand with a cost of more than 40 USD/night. These destinations combine culture, cuisine, and nature, providing a worthwhile experience at a reasonable cost. In addition, some other famous tourist attractions such as Narita and Binh Dong also appear on the list with prices ranging from 70 to 78 USD/night.
According to Agoda‘s representative, April and May are the peak period in Asia with many festivals held continuously such as Golden Week in Japan and, the water splashing ceremony in Thailand. Therefore, tourists everywhere are looking for worthwhile travel experiences. Through the ranking, visitors can choose attractive tourist destinations with economical costs.
